On Thinking Critically
Most of us will not give serious thinking space to anything that does not personally affect us. Most things that do not influence our freedoms or our pocketbooks blow right by us, but we do ourselves no favors by not enlarging our public interests, especially if we just sigh and give up on issues that we think are beyond us.
Treasured spots...
Case in point….lately an important expose’ has surfaced… again… regarding the fraudulent payments by well-to-do actors and corporate parents who lay out significant sums of money to esteemed universities to insure treasured spots for their college-bound students. The enlargements of our hearts and souls...

Of course we should when we consider the unfair situations they foster and the salient American values they trample on. Thinking critically about larger issues than our own personal concerns promotes the enlargements of our hearts and souls as spiritual/human beings. Who but those who think clearly and with concern for the general good will see the greatest life values manifest for the greatest number?
We are gifted with magnificent power...
We are gifted with the magnificent power to thinking broadly and critically. Don’t we owe it to ourselves … and to life… to use this gift?
