Freedom

I do not think that people who have always lived in a free country have any idea what it would be like to live without freedom. Could we imagine not being able to walk through our towns without restrictions…or choose what we shall do with our time and talents… or criticize public officials without fear of reprisal… or any number of hundreds of acts we take for granted?

Do we treasure our freedoms?

Do we treasure our freedoms, or do we live without any sense of care or responsibility for them, really thinking we can do anything we like without considering the fragile mindset that attends upon freedom, for this would be license, the waste of precious opportunity. We know we are born needing care and attention until we are able to be responsible for ourselves, at which point the free society becomes invaluable. Freedom, to be viable, must be shared. Those around us must also be able to enjoy their hearts’ desires so that our entire atmosphere of creativity, love and liberty can reign through the landscape.

A small touch...

Perhaps it would be in order for us to turn in gratitude to the God who gives all  the opportunity to go out the door, do as much or as little as we are able, and return again through that same door because we want to! Here, friends, is but a small touch of what it means to be free. Fun, not always… productive, at times… thrilling, yes, if we but realize what a gift it is… and it is ours…
