One Too Many

One of our more aggravating traits as Americans is the tendency to push, push, push when we want something.  Not that efforting does not have its place… definitely it does, but often we do not have the good sense just to “let be”, and let things work out as they will.

A natural order...

Over the years I have finally recognized that there is generally a natural order to the daily movements in our living, some we are wise enough not to disturb, such as readying ourselves for the onset of the day.  Wisdom tells us how to let the day’s beginnings unfold, and, for the most part, we tend to pay attention.  It is as the day proceeds that we get to pushing and shoving things and circumstances into place that we create problems.

"Wait and see"...

Often there is a kind of “ripening” that needs to take place so that things will unfold at the right time and in the right ways, and if we tamper with these timings we can interrupt the ways and means that some thoughts and acts need to come to proper fruition.  Perhaps we need to develop a bit more of a “wait and see” mode in us rather than continuously chance the “one too many” motions that often bring down the very thing we are creating.  Could be that patience is a greater virtue than we thought!
