On the Human Spirit

Metaphysicians often like to quote the thought that “we are made from an idea in the Mind of God.” Taken simply at its words, this means that our human spirit is irrevocably a part of the Divine spirit. If we know and believe this, we can live lives that are ennobled. If we do not realize this, we can live lives that are full of rage and torment, and here lies real danger. There is nothing more volatile or life threatening than divine energy wrongly spent because such pure energy is the gift of heaven to all…and it often comes without instructions!

Our vast curiosity...

It makes perfect sense that we should use our vast curiosity in discovery. Whether we adhere to a traditional religious system or simply consider ourselves “spiritually inclined,” we can all come to know what it means to use the Mind of God every time we think.

"God is love"...

Consider the horrors that angry, hateful thinking can provoke, the harm that comes about when we do not pay attention to the ideas we are embracing. There is something God-like about real love that we all recognize because it calls forth the best of us and brings about creativity and invention. Real love can bring about healthy conditions not known before, conditions that demonstrate the famous Biblical statement, “God is love.” Can we as revealers of the divine through our humanity deny this? Hopefully never. Hopefully the inner desire to know more about ourselves moves us into inspired, searching, uplifted thinking and acting. This would indeed be the crowning achievement of the human spirit.
