The coronavirus--- called by some The Big “V”---- has turned the world on its head, and once again we are dealing with something new and, for many, quite scary and exhausting. Children are not sure what to do with their energies; most folks are struggling each day to work with the changing assessments of the virus; and the very spiritual are having difficulty sidelining it into a “non-event.” The medical community is not yet at the point of making guesses about its length and durability. We know about “social distancing” (a new addition to the American lexicon!), hand washing and staying inside. What we do not yet know is how to integrate these behaviors into our ways of living over a long period.
Hear ourselves think...
Perhaps we can turn off the virus-laden news for a spell and “hear ourselves think,” as my sainted mother would have said. Regardless of the information streaming in, we are still who we were before the contagion came upon us. We still love; we still dream; we have beliefs that sustain us, and we have the road ahead.

Our essentials are within us, and we have the choices to deal and do what we must, both as individuals and in groups. We can help the virus to pass from our lives, and we will be here to heal and to reveal once more. This is a given, and it is ours.
