Close to the Heart

What are the things that are close to the heart… the things we might not think of every day? Could some of them be family, people we love, work that calls to us, the values that move us? And how do we keep them front and center in our lives? For some of us, our family and friends loom larger and find room in our thoughts regularly. Others love their work deeply, and some are reminded of the things that are important to them when  they go out the door.

No one walks in our shoes...

If our days are to be stirring and eventful, we should be thinking regularly about the people, the activities and the situations that make each day special, lest we risk simply slogging through our days mindlessly. Whether we think about it or not, each of us has something unique to bring into life each day. There is no one who thinks and moves like we do. No one walks in our shoes, and no other voice can speak for us. There are always those who anticipate our company, and circumstances that need our touches because, we, indeed, may live close to the hearts of some we may not know about.

A heart that needs us...

Perhaps, we should pay a little more attention to that which goes on around us lest we overlook a heart that needs us…Surely nothing is more important than a heart we touch.
