Openness to Good

It is my opinion that God believing people are what I call, open to good. For those who believe in a power greater than themselves, it would be natural to feel that their days hold possibilities for positive outcomes and greater joy. The opportunities for guidance in making right choices would be available to those who open themselves to them as a natural way of living.

By the same token, I also think that people who believe in nothing greater than themselves would often feel at the mercy of whatever is going on around them. What would there be for them to turn to if there is no greater Mind available?

A believer...

Being a believer has always been natural for me, not because I expect some major Hand to lift me out of problems but because I am willing to be “open to good,” able to make the best, most thoughtful choices I know, in hard times and in easy times. I expect to be responsible for what I do, but I do not feel tossed about by a careless fate.

Loving surprises...

To quiet the mind, to sit expectantly in prayer… our constantly available connection to God… can be a wonderful start to the day, and a wonderful close as well. Spiritual practices can be as simple as we want to make them, and sometimes they hold loving surprises.
