"Getting away"....
How often do we notice that time is “getting away from us”? Since the movement of time is silent, we can sometimes find ourselves moving through days in a group, not always accomplishing much but often wondering where the moments have gone. Time is soft; it does not impose itself upon us, but it is relentless. There is nothing we can do to hasten it or slow it down. All that we can really do is be attentive to it so that it, like a fractious child, does not elude us.

Vigorous things...
We can purposely examine our days so that they do not pass like an unnoticed stream of instances that do not account for much. Some days, yes, may be slow, unmeasured and casual… some sleepy and lazy, but most we will need to attend to so that we will be able to do the vigorous things we wish to accomplish and be the purposeful people we want to be.
