Time passes...

Time is unflinching, unchanging. It passes; it moves along, and it never comes back. From moment to moment it goes forward every day and can only return in memory, which is not always steadfast. True, we cannot be “on duty” at every moment. Sometimes we must simply “unplug”, hang out, let the quiet overtake us, actually get some sleep. But some things appear before us that want us to be “timely” now.

Does someone need to know?...

Is there a task coming up that only we can do? Will some opportunity be lost if we are not paying attention? Does someone need to know… right now… how much we love him or her? It’s too bad that we are time-bound creatures and that we are always sensitive to its relentless movements, but that seems to be the way it is. We are not caught in a vacuum; we move along too and are subject to the eroding of our youth and the years after that.

Maybe we should take hold of time....

If we are looking in the mirror at our encroaching wrinkles and graying hair, are there moments we need to grab for things we should say or do? The dawn will probably break, and tomorrow will most likely arrive for us… but it might not also.

Maybe we should take hold of time for a bit and do what is ours to do!
