On Essential Love

    

   I believe that there is a basic engine that runs the universe, and I call it Essential Love…not just the sloppy, soppy kind of emotion that excites the body. I believe this is a positive, elemental atmosphere that is, by its nature, healing, creative, connective and expressive… and that it finds itself in us, who, by our natures, are instruments of Love.

Essential Love...

After years of thinking, praying, reading, studying, talking with people, exploring ideas, both religious and philosophical, about the nature of life, I’ve come down to Essential Love, shorn of myths, magic and legends, as the starting gate of who we think we are and what we make of ourselves. Consequently when we have pushed, pulled, thrust, forced, cajoled and threatened ourselves into dangerous corners from which it becomes harder and harder to extricate ourselves, we come back…at last…to Essential Love.

What if we started from it?.....

This year instead of coming back to Essential Love when all else fails, what if we started from it? What if we decided we could restructure, re-wire and reconnect all of us by going back to the basics of Essential Love? No lies, no hatred, no hierarchies, no convolutions…starting from scratch…seeing each other as brother and sister heirs of Essential Love…every one of us a leader in Love…waking up in the morning and declaring Love into being!

Could we…and would we?
