Slowing Down

Curing these Covid 19 times, we have all had to do things differently than we might have chosen, especially, perhaps, when it comes to living and behaving more slowly than usual. Due to the need for extra care in living, we may now have less crowded days and more extended times for creation and mindful thinking. We may not be able to crash around, filling our days with lots of “doing.” Instead, we may want to take more thought about the ways in which we live our lives. Perhaps it has seemed easier to just “do” what is in front of us rather than “be” more of who we really are through well-considered introspection.

Who would they seem to be if they gave more consideration to their inner thoughts? What sorts of interesting self-discoveries could they make if they took the time to let their lives unfold more deliberately? Usually, such discoveries have to be definitely chosen since the urge to stay on the urgent path is very compelling. It is often easier to stay stoked than it is to give peaceful thought to new possibilities.

Let us, then, examine the values...

Let us, then, examine the values found in slowing down, in being more deliberate in our choices, and in engaging in fewer precious decisions. It could mean a more interesting and purposeful life.
