The Quiet Mind

When we think of a quiet mind, we are not considering a mind that does not think. We are setting our sights on a mind that is calm and orderly enough so that it can think! Often there is so much going through our minds that it is too jammed with errant ideas for us to be able to move clearly from idea to idea; and effective thinkers must be able to slow down the stream of ideas available to them so that they can choose what they will concentrate upon and what they will let go.

The mind that quietly entertains productive ideas which lead to joyous living is truly to be desired. We can choose to cultivate such a mind!
