Never Too Late

In days of many misgivings and misunderstandings, it is never too late to make amends, to smooth over hurt feelings, and to remember that civility can go a long way toward mending frayed relationships. These nervous times between some countries as well as individuals need our best selves as we engage in public and private behaviors. And sometimes when our leaders seem not to be representing us, the citizens, in wise and thoughtful ways, it will be up to us in our powers as members of the voting public to make our wishes known at the ballot box.

Free Citizens....

Do we really understand what it means to be free citizens, to make certain that we do not take our voting rights for granted? Do we know how readily such rights can subtly be lost through unscrupulous means? These are not the times to ignore our rights as citizens but to make sure they are secure by our use of them.
The rights and responsibilities of  citizenry....

It has been said that the signs of great nations are how readily they take care of the most vulnerable of their citizens and how strongly they attend to the rights and responsibilities of citizenry. Freedom is not always an obvious right; it is often a gift that is hard won through effort and some strife.

Responsible concern....

During these active and important times, let us remember what is means to be free, and that freedom comes with responsible concern on the part of citizens.
