Mental Stability

  


          
To be in control of our lives, we must be able to direct our mental stability.  There are so many things in the world of affairs that are unsettling that we must carefully and continually watch ourselves to make sure we are not obsessing over ideas and events when we should be keeping order in our minds.

"Mind our minds...          

 Unfortunately the world around us is not going to settle down to suit us, so we will be the ones who “mind our minds,” so to speak.  This can be helped greatly by paying attention to what we give “mind space” to.  Every day an array of thoughts swim through our minds indiscriminately.  They are not necessarily positive nor organized, so it is we who must exercise a certain amount of control over the mental activity we allow.  We actually can resist some of what passes through our minds so that our thoughts can become more chosen, more reasonable and more controllable.  In fact, this must take place on a daily basis if we are not to be run ragged mentally.

 Great heights...           

We can refuse to become upset by unchecked negative thoughts and emotions; and it is within our abilities to concentrate upon ideas that inspire and motivate us to great heights.  Besides, if we are to experience mental stability, it will be up to us to decide what we shall think about and what we shall refuse to consider.
